Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in machine learning related field (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science etc.)

• Master's degree in Physics, Computer Science or Mathematics (advantageous)

Experience Requirements:

• Some research experience in machine learning and computational statistics

• Experience in deep learning and computer vision (advantageous)

Other Requirements:

• Valid work permit for Switzerland

• Ability to work independently on complex projects

Responsibilities:

• Discuss relevant research questions with the team at the University of Palermo

• Analyze available sensor data

• Develop algorithms for extracting information from sensor data

• Plan future data collection campaigns

• Collect new data from the designed campaign and analyze it

• Collect images of volunteers using thermal and RGB cameras

• Process and prepare collected data for analysis

• Test deep learning models

• Conduct facial and body position analysis

• Collaborate with the project team to refine and optimize the prototype
