About
The CLAMS project, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, aims to develop an open platform offering advanced AI tools specifically for archivists and media researchers. It enhances access, search capabilities, and exploration of audiovisual archival material. The tools are designed to derive valuable metadata and insights from A/V content that might not be readily available to archivists or searchable by database indexes. Additionally, CLAMS caters to computer scientists and developers through an interoperable platform that supports custom workflows and pipelines. Key components include an interchange format for multimodal annotations (MMIF), a flexible workflow engine with compatible apps, and a Software Development Kit (SDK) for app developers.
