What is reality capture?
Reality capture digitally captures, shares, and analyzes real-world site conditions using various methods including 360° images, often captured by a hard hat-mounted camera. This allows for virtual site walks, enabling real-time condition assessment.
Where is your data stored? How do I know that my data is safe?
OpenSpace prioritizes data security with certifications like Privacy Shield, Cyber Essentials, and SOC 2 compliance, as well as encryption in transit and at rest. Data is stored with AWS.
How do I set up a project?
After signing up, upload floor plans (and optionally a BIM model). Use OpenSpace Academy or the Getting Started guide for further assistance.
How much data can I capture?
Capture as much data as needed; there's no data limit.
Can I take regular mobile phone photos and upload those to OpenSpace?
Yes, you can take photos and notes during OpenSpace walks, and they'll be pinned to their locations using OpenSpace Field Notes. You can also manually pin other photos.
Can I add regular 360° photos taken manually to OpenSpace?
Yes, in addition to automated video walks, you can manually pin standard 360° photos to your floor plan.
How many people can I invite to view a project?
You can add an unlimited number of people to a project.
If I use OpenSpace, does one of my team members do the walks? Or do you provide someone?
Your field team can capture the site with minimal extra work using 360° cameras and the app. OpenSpace can also provide a trained individual in select markets.
Where do I download the OpenSpace app?
Download from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

What is the difference between OpenSpace and other 3D capture tools?
Unlike tools needing dedicated setup, OpenSpace is labor-free. Simply attach a 360° camera, walk the site, and our AI handles processing.
How much does OpenSpace cost?

What cameras do you support?
We support Garmin VIRB 360, Insta360 One X, One R, Ricoh Theta Z1 (video and photo), and Ricoh 360 cameras (photo). Drone capture is also supported.
How quickly can I start capturing? How fast is your processing speed?
Project setup takes 5-10 minutes. Image processing averages 15 minutes, progress tracking 12 hours.
