Frankenstein AI is a multi-year research initiative that reinterprets Mary Shelley's Frankenstein narrative by presenting AI as a naive, emotionally aware, and intelligent being. The project challenges dystopian views of artificial intelligence, aiming to foster discussions about the future of technology through immersive experiences that blend performance, community engagement, and storytelling. Collaboratively developed with Columbia University's Digital Storytelling Lab, it invites public participation through a range of events, beginning with its premiere at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). This project seeks to center humanity's needs in AI discussions, explore algorithmic bias, and encourage empathic conversations that build an inclusive design methodology. With a focus on the intersection of machine intelligence and human emotion, Frankenstein AI aims to discover new ways to address biases by engaging diverse groups in meaningful dialogue.
