About
DECIMER is a web application designed to facilitate automated chemical image segmentation and recognition from scientific publications. Users can upload PDF documents or images containing chemical structures, which are then processed using DECIMER's OCSR engine to detect and segment these structures. The resulting data is presented including both the segmented images and their corresponding SMILES representations, with options for editing and downloading the structures. Additionally, it provides an interface to resolve IUPAC names using the STOUT engine. Developed by the Steinbeck group at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, DECIMER ensures that uploaded images remain private and are only retained for one hour unless a reported error necessitates further use. The platform is actively maintained and aims to streamline the process of identifying and analyzing chemical structures in literature.
