A software workflow is a sequence of tasks required to achieve a specific outcome, such as rolling out software updates or analyzing data for decision-making. Similar to the process of publishing a book, where one step triggers the next, software workflows involve drafting, editing, testing, and deploying code on a machine known as a Workflow runner.
Who are the founders?
Our journey began when Stelios, assistant professor of computing at Birkbeck, met Dimitris, who was his undergraduate tutee in 2014. Dimitris later became his PhD tutee in 2019, and by 2021, together they had launched a small DevOps company. During this time, they encountered significant challenges with software workflows. They automated workflows to address these issues and shared solutions with colleagues who loved it. This success motivated them to share their solution with a broader audience, leading to the creation of Warestack.

Monitoring Complexity: Setting up tracking tools for each workflow can be repetitive and time-consuming, akin to constantly setting up the same text style guide for different documents. 3. Error Resolution: Fixing errors requires navigating through extensive logs, similar to catching typos manually rather than using a tool like Grammarly. For instance, an OpenAI workflow may generate 12,000 lines of log messages, making it a daunting task to pinpoint and resolve issues.
