SmoothRide, also known as InfrastructureGPT, is an AI-powered platform designed to improve cycling infrastructure. Users submit reports with images of cycling-related issues. The platform uses AI (YOLOv8 and OpenAI GPT-3.5) to analyze images and suggest improvements. These suggestions are rated by users and contribute to a database of best practices. The platform also provides curated content, such as videos, on relevant topics. The project is a master's project by Phil Wornath focusing on the possibilities of AI in improving cycling infrastructure. Data is collected pseudonymously and stored in Germany, and users have full control over their data.
