How Normal Am I? is a unique project that allows users to see how facial detection algorithms assess their appearance. This privacy-friendly tool requires access to the user's camera but does not collect any personal data. All processing occurs locally in the browser, and users can choose to share anonymized data at the end of their experience to recalibrate averages. Developed with support from the European Union, this project highlights the societal implications of reliance on machine learning algorithms in judging human faces. It operates primarily through web browsers and is designed to offer insight into biases in AI and statistical models.
