Queryable is a macOS app enabling offline photo search using text descriptions. It leverages CoreML for local processing, ensuring user privacy by avoiding network access. Users can search using various descriptions (scenarios, tones, objects, emotions). The initial index build may take a few minutes, depending on photo count. New photos require manual index updates. The app requires macOS 13.0 or later and M1 chips or later. It uses cached low-definition versions of local photos for offline use, and while it can optionally use iCloud, the original image quality is not displayed in search results.

What are the iPhone model requirements?
Queryable uses CoreML locally. Your iPhone must support CoreML, macOS 13.0 or above, and M1 chips or later models.
Are there any privacy or security issues?
Queryable is designed as an offline app and will never request network access, avoiding privacy issues. Version 1.1.2+ allows optional use of wireless data to fetch photos from iCloud.
How do I use Queryable?
The first time you run it, Queryable builds an index for all your photos (allow access). This takes a few minutes (depending on the number of photos). It processes at about 2000 photos/minute. This only happens once. Manually update the index for new photos.
What's Queryable's highlight?
You can search using any description: scenarios, tones, objects, or emotions depicted. Examples include: "photos of our gathering," "kite in blue sky," "a dog, a girl, flower," or "We fell in love."
What if Queryable crashes during index building?
Ensure macOS 13.0, M1 chip or above. Turn off low battery mode and kill memory-hungry apps, then retry. Contact myfancoo@gmail.com if problems persist.
What are the issues with iCloud?
Since Queryable is offline, it uses cached low-definition versions of local Photos albums. This doesn't affect search accuracy, but you can't view original images in search results. This is a compromise between privacy and convenience.
